After almost 10 years working in non-IT jobs, in the chemical industry, or as sound technician,
DJing, etc, Infordisa represented my return to the IT world.
I joined the company in early 2011, as it was trying to surf the latest waves of the public wi-fi, hot-spot fever that boosted the IT industry in the early 2000s.
There was the need of field technicians, prompt to learn networking skills and get certification, but that, at the same time, didn't refuse hard field job, that often involved hostile environment, in high altitude, somehow dangerous places... seems the job fitted to me!
Problems soon arise but, since at that year, 2011, Spain reached near economic collapse, and that directly hit invest in non-critical public services, being public hot-spots a clear example of them... all of the sudden, most of the projects get halted.
Soon, a personnel reduction ensued, and as result of this, In a matter of months I ended up being
the sole person at the department; in charge of design, setup, deploy and test remaining projects,
which were at that time all private, mostly hotels, and camping areas.
Once all projects were finished, I was deployed helping as needed to other departments, specially hardware maintenance, voIP projects, and networking... but the sense of uncertainty was too high to me... My contract was reaching its end, and I got several opportunities in sight... It was clearly time to take the initiative and look for a new job elsewhere!
I have to thank Infordisa not only the opportunity they gave me, but also key knowledge and
certification in thechnologies such as CISCO networks, Mikrotik, Lobometrics, and CISCO VoIP.
Moreover, It was at Infordisa where I finally discovered my still favorite IT discipline: networking!
